Hilde Larsen. From Hell (ulcer, Lyme and severe rheumatoid arthritis), to being Inspired (sau cum te vindeci, cand te intorci la natura) (I)

I “met” Hilde this year, while I was watching doctor Morse’s YouTube videos and I have been so impressed by her life story, that I said to my self: Hilde is another beautiful soul, from which me and so many people can learn from and get inspired by. I deeply admire people who take the path of self empowerment (as that’s not an easy thing to do: to take responsibility and decide for yourself!) to regain health and then choose to share their knowledge and their wisdom with people in need.

Am fost atat de impresionata de povestea acestei femei, incat mi-am spus ca Hilde este inca un suflet frumos, de la care, atat eu, cat si alti oameni, putem invata si ne putem inspira. Admir cu totul oamenii care aleg drumul “autoimputernicirii” (caci nu e treaba usoara sa iti asumi responsabilitatea si sa decizi tu, pentru tine), care isi recastiga sanatatea si apoi aleg sa impartaseasca altora, aflati in nevoie, din cunostintele si din intelepciunea lor.


I myself am trying to get to this path, for more than 10 years. I know I still have so much to do and learn, for my body and for my soul! But I feel I am getting closer to the simple truth Hilde tries to teach: nature is life and life is nature. As simple as that. And I am sure the autoimmune disease that I have been labeled with (Pernicious Anemia) and the chronic Iron deficiency I have for many years, both have the answer in this SIMPLICITY. I still have a long road to travel, as I said, but with the help of people like Hilde and dr. Morse and many others, this road is getting more beautiful. 🙂

Eu insami incerc, de mai bine de 10 ani, sa ma imbarc pe acest drum, al “autoimputernicirii”. Stiu ca am inca atatea de facut si de invatat, pentru corpul meu, pentru sufletul meu…Dar simt ca ma apropii din ce in ce mai mult de acest adevar simplu, despre care ne invata Hilde: natura este viata si viata este natura. E atat de simplu! Si sunt sigura ca boala autoimuna cu care am fost “etichetata” (anemie pernicioasa) si carenta cronica de fier, pe care o am de multi ani, ambele isi gasesc raspuns in SIMPLITATE. Si chiar daca, asa cum spuneam, inca am de calatorit, ajutorul unor oameni, ca Hilde ori ca dr. Morse si multi altii, face aceasta calatorie mai frumoasa.

So, I wrote to Hilde and, to my joy, she accepted my invitation to answer a few questions about her journey and her expertise in healing. I believe everybody can benefit from what she has to say and I hope you enjoy this interview and maybe be willing to apply at least a few of her advises.

Her career started as an interior architect, designing cruise ships and hotels. Being athletic all her life, she was the co-owner of an aerobics and spinning studio for many years. She closed her interior design and building company, in 2004, due to her severe illness. She then went on to studying journalism, and was guided to the path of healing and regeneration. But, I better let Hilde share her incredibile story.

Cariera lui Hilde a inceput ca arhitect de interioare, de nave de croaziera si de hoteluri. Fire sportiva, Hilde a fost co-proprietara unui studio de aerobic si de spinning, vreme de multi ani. Si-a inchis afacerea de design interior si de constructii in 2004, din cauza problemelor serioase de sanatate. In acea perioada, totusi, a studiat jurnalismul si, pe drum, a fost ghidata catre vindecare si regenerare.

Today, Hilde is a certified Health and Wellness Coach from IIN (Institute for Integrative Nutrition), a Raw Food Teacher, an Author and a certified Detox Specialist. Her glowing enthusiasm for health and vitality has the leading role in her work. Hilde Larsen is also an Inspirational media speaker, a blogger, and has her own YouTube channel.

Hilde also wrote three books. In her first book, “From HELL to Inspired”, Hilde shares her full story. A heartfelt gripping journey about her struggles from bedridden to living her dreams. Her interest for healing and spiritual growth also led her to become a Reiki Healer. She is highly intuitive and has a strong connection to Mother Earth and the spiritual world. Born and raised in Stavanger, Norway, she and her husband of 28 years have a second home in Florida, USA. She is a proud mother and grandmother, and a tree hugger at heart. Liorisme: Dear Hilde, when and how did your health problems begin?

Liorisme: Draga Hilde, cand si cum au inceput problemele tale de sanatate?

Hilde:  Well, looking back, I am not sure I was ever really healthy. Like most of us, I had the common rashes now and then, the allergies and the constipation. In my adult life, the stomach troubles escalated and I ended up with multiple ulcers. From there, I was diagnosed with Lymes disease and finally , with severe rheumatoid arthritis.

Hilde:  Ei bine, privind inapoi, nu mai sunt sigura ca am fost vreodata cu adevarat sanatoasa. Ca multi alti oameni, aveam mici probleme de piele, cate-o alergie cand si cand, constipatie…Mai tarziu, ca adult, problemele de stomac s-au inrautatit si am ajuns sa am ulcer. Apoi, am fost diagnosticata cu Lyme si, in final, cu artrita reumatoida, severa.

Liorisme: Looking back, can you say what might have led to such a sever phisical condition? I mean, was it the food and other bad habits? Or, would you say that there were some emotional events along the way, that may have led to your healh problems?

Liorisme: Privind in urma, poti spune ce anume ar fi putut cauza asemenea probleme fizice? Adica, crezi ca au fost de vina alimentatia si alte obiceiuri daunatoare? Sau ai spune ca au fost implicate si probleme de ordin emotional, ce ar fi putut duce la degradarea sanatatii?

Hilde: Indeed. The emotional is always an issue. We are what we eat, think, fee land live. We are a product of our life, our genetic make up, environment and spiritual connection. While I was born from parents both having the regular smaller heath issues, I was raised on milk, potatoes and meat. The typical Norwegian diet. There were no knowledge of the connection with these foods and disease. Together with being the oldest of three sisters, having been given alot of responsibility, being a people pleaser and a high achiever, my lymphatic system was clearly not moving, and I became a ticking bomb. My adult life was colored by diet coke, beer, fitness, cigarettes, dairy and a high stress level. Not a good combo, although a very common one.

Hilde: Adevarat, aspectul emotional e intotdeauna o parte a problemei. Suntem cee ace mancam, ceea ce gandim, ce simtim si ce traim. Suntem produsul propriei vieti, a mostenirii genetice, a conexiunilor cu mediul inconjurator si cu spiritualitatea. Parintii mei aveau, la randul lor, mici probleme, obisnuite, de sanatate. Apoi, am fost crescuta cu lapte, cartofi si carne. Dieta tipica din Norvegia. Nu existau atunci cunostinte despre legatura dintre alimentele acestea si boala. Si asta, pe langa faptul ca eram cea mai mare din cele 3 fete ale familiei; am fost responsabilizata de mica, mereu dornica sa fac altora pe plac si intotdeauna foarte ambitioasa. Astfel, sistemul meu limfatic era clar blocat si am devenit o bomba cu ceas. Viata mea de adult a fost colorata cu Cola, bere, fitness, tigari, lactate si cu un nivel ridicat de stres. Cu siguranta, nu era o combinatia grozava, desi nici nu era ceva iesit din comun.

Liorisme:  What was the thing that scarried you the most, along your healing journey? Or the most difficult…

Liorisme:  Ce te-a speriat cel mai tare, de-a lungul calatoriei tale catre vindecare? Sau ce a fost cel mai dificil…

Hilde: Well, when you realize your life will never be the same. When you are given a severe diagnosis, and put on distructive medications for the rest of your life, something within you falls appart. I was the one that did it all, that could handle everything, and now, I was completely debilitated. I was on so many meds, the sideeffects were detrimenta. From that point, to stopping everything. All the meds, the social life, going out of bed, even seeing anyone was the hardest. To realize I was on my own, and that anyone outside my own house believed I was crazy for wanting to get my health back.

Hilde: Ei bine, e foarte greu cand realizezi ca viata ta nu va mai fi niciodata la fel. Cand esti diagnosticat cu o boala foarte grava si esti tratat cu medicamente distructive pe viata, ceva in tine se prabuseste. Eram genul care facea de toate, care se putea descurca cu orice si, iata, dintr-o data, eram complet lipsita de putere. Luam atat de multe medicamente, incat efectele secundare faceau ravagii. Medicamentele, viata sociala, coboratul din pat si chiar sa vad pe cineva…totul era ingrozitor de greu. Era, de asemenea, greu sa vad ca eram pe cont propriu, ca toti, in afara mea si a familiei, credeau ca sunt nebuna, pentru ca incercam sa imi recastig sanatatea.

Liorisme:  How you decided to give up on madication and how did you get in touch with frugivorism?  How eating basically only fruits changed your health, your life?

Liorisme:  Cum te-ai hotarat sa renunti la medicamente si cum ai aflat de dieta frugivora? Cum ti-a schimbat sanatatea, viata, faptul ca ai adoptat o dieta bazata, in principal, pe fructe?

Hilde: I had a dream that led me to stop all my medications. I wrote about it in my first book, From Hell to Inspired. It has my whole story, written to Inspire those in the same situation. I did not get in touch with frugivorism, and I do not see myself as frugivore. I am not about labels. I walked day by day by asking God to show me the way, how I could serve. I went from giving up dairy and meet, to reading up on raw food and veganism. It found me, so to speak. I then went on to raw food for many years. High fats, afraid of the fruits, the high sugar. At some point, someone poked me about Dr Morse, and I started watching his videos. The minute I met him in person in Florida, I knew I was on to some basic truths. The connection was immediate, and the simplicity resonated with my soul.

Hilde: Am avut un vis, care m-a facut sa opresc orice medicatie. Am scris despre asta in prima mea carte, “From Hell to Inspired”. Acolo am povestit totul pentru ca, astfel, sa ii inspir si pe altii, aflati in aceeasi situatie. Nu a fost un mod anume prin care am aflat de dieta frugivora si nici nu ma consider frugivor. Nu imi plac etichetele. Ce am facut a fost sa il intreb zilnic pe Dumnezeu: “Arata-mi Calea. Cum pot fi de folos?” De asemenea, am inceput prin a renunta la lactate si la carne si sa citesc despre dieta raw vegana si despre veganism. Acest tip de alimentatie m-a gasit pe mine, ca sa zic asa. Apoi, am mancat doar hrana cruda, multi ani, bogata in grasimi insa, fiindu-mi teama de fructe si de zaharurile din ele. La un moment dat, cineva mi-a vorbit de dr. Morse si am inceput sa ii urmaresc inregistrarile. Din momentul in care l-am cunoscut in persoana, in Florida, am stiut ca am gasit adevarul. Conexiunea a fost imediata, iar simplitatea acestui tip de alimentatie a rezonat cu sufletul meu.

Liorisme: At what point you knew you were healing?

Liorisme: Cand ai stiut ca te vindeci?

Hilde: Well, I always knew deep inside that I was going to either do this or die. So, as long as I was alive, I knew I was on the right path. Still, after stopping my medications, it took me maybe 4 years to see any real profound results. Physically, mentally and emotionally. When you heal you heal, on all levels.

Hilde: Ei bine, mereu am stiut in interiorul meu, ca ori ma vindec complet, ori mor. Asa ca, atat timp cat inca eram in viata, stiam ca sunt pe drumul cel bun. Cu toate acestea, dupa ce am oprit orice medicament, a fost nevoie de 4 ani pentru ca eu sa vad rezultate profunde, la nivel fizic, mental si emotional. Cand te vindeci, te vindeci la toate nivelele.

Liorisme: You are a close friend of Doctor Morse. How was when you meet him and how he impacted your life?

Liorisme: Esti apropiata de doctor Morse. Cum a fost intalnirea cu el si cum ti-a impactat viata?

Hilde: I met him at his clinic in Port Charlotte, Florida, when I came to see him as a client. I had seen a few of his videos and done alot of healing on my own, but something drew me towards him and his view on life and healing. We found mutual respect and friendship over the years we have been seeing each other. I came to his Detoxification shool, and has since then become a home owner in Florida myself, so I can keep in contact and enjoy the fruits and healing herbs even more freely. His teachings has changed my life forever. He is a unique soul with a heart that radiate love to all of humanity.


Hilde: Pe doctor Morse l-am intalnit la clinica sa din Port Charlotte, Florida, intai ca pacienta a sa. Deja vazusem cateva din inregistrarile sale video si parcursesem ceva drum spre vindecare, dar ceva m-a atras catre el si viziunea sa asupra vietii si vindecarii. De-a lungul anilor, ne-a legat respectul reciproc si prietenia. Am urmat cursurile Scolii de Detoxifiere, a doctorului Morse si, de atunci, am devenit chiar proprietara unei case in Florida, asa incat pot mentine contactul cu el si ma pot bucura de vindecare cu fructe si plante. Invataturile doctorului Morse mi-au schimbat pentru totdeauna viata. Este un suflet unic, cu o inima ce radiaza dragoste catre toti.

Liorisme:  How important is water fasting for deep healing? Did you used this „tool” on your healing process?

Liorisme:  Cat de important este postul cu apa in vindecarea profunda? Ai folosit aceasta “unealta” in propriul proces de vindecare?

Hilde: I have not been a big practicer of water fasting. I am more into dry fasting. I am speaking on the topic at this years Fasting summit as well. It holds a key to kidney filtration and deep healing.

Hilde: Nu sunt un mare practicant al postului cu apa. Folosesc mai mult postul “uscat”. Voi vorbi despre asta la Summit-ul despre Post, de anul acesta. Acest tip de post ajuta rinichii sa filtreze si, astfel, sa obtinem vindecare profunda.

Liorisme:  In this case, what is your experience on dry fasting and why it is not advocable for anyone to dive into dry fasting without having practiced cleansing for a certain lenght of time?

Liorisme:  In acest caz, care este experienta ta cu postul uscat si de ce nu este recomandabil sa il facem, fara o curatire prealabila, practicata o vreme?

Hilde: I have explored dry fasting and am practicing it every single week. It is a profound part of any healing regime. To jump into any deep cleansing protocol, without having transitioned from a SAD (Standard American) diet, is not advisable for several reasons, the most important one being the health of the elimination organs. Hilde: Am experimentat postul uscat si inca il practic, saptamanal. Acest tip de post este parte din orice regim de vindecare profunda. Insa, sa sari direct in orice tip de protocol de curatire interna, fara sa fi facut tranzitia de la o dieta “standard”, nu ar fi recomandabil pentru mai multe motive. Liorisme:  In your opinion, what would serve our body better: longer water fasting, 3-4 times per year or shorter/intermittent weekly, even daily fasting? Why?

Liorisme:  In opinia ta, ce e mai folositor organismului nostru: un post mai lung, de 3-4 ori pe an sau un post mai scurt/post intermitent, practicat saptamanal sau chiar zilnic? De ce?

Hilde: I would absolutely go for the dry, intermitted fasting. Although every person is different. We all have different levels of toxicity and health of our glands and organs, and one thingmay not be right for everyone. I could not give spesific advice without seeing the person as my client, but in general I would say this: Slow and steady wins the race. I am a firm believer and have seen in my own experience that dilligence and determined work is what makes the difference. The body takes time to take out the garbage, and regeneration is never done over a short period of time. Also, I see people jumping into fasts, to then go back to a crappy diet. The jo-jo detoxing. Not good for the body, not very successfull as far as long term real change.

Hilde: As alege in mod categoric postul uscat, intermitent; desi, fiecare persoana e diferita. Fiecare are un nivel diferit de toxicitate, cat si nivel diferit de sanatate a glandelor si a organelor interne si ce ar fi potrivit pentru cineva, ar putea fi nepotrivit pentru altcineva. Nu as putea sa fac recomandari specifice, fara sa cunosc persoana in cauza, dar, in general, asta as spune: incet, dar sigur. Cred foarte tare si am vazut din propria experienta, ca rabdarea si determinarea fac diferenta. Corpul are nevoie de timp pentru a se curata, pentru a scapa de gunoi, iar regenerarea nu se face de azi pe maine. Mai vad si oameni care se arunca in perioade de post total, ca apoi sa se intoarca la porcarii. Asta e “detoxifierea” de tip jo-jo, care nu face bine nici corpului si nici nu aduce rezultate pe termen lung.

Liorisme: De ce sunt fructele alimente superioare oricarui alt tip de aliment, chiar si legumelor?

Hilde:  This is a question that deserves a whole chapter. I write about it in Know the Truth and Get healthy, but in short: We were designed to eat fruits. We are frugivores. Frugivores eat primarily fruits, berries and some tender leafy greens. They can easily grab ripe fruits off the trees. They have “hands” to pick, and teeth that can easily rip open a ripe fruit. The length of the intestines and the pH of the stomach acid, shows that they are designed to digest fruits. Chimpanzees and other primates are frugivores.

When we take the time to examine the human body, we will easily recognize the signs of a frugivore. No education needed, nothing but logical common sense. We would have a very difficult time ripping apart skin and flesh. Our nails are not claws, and our hands are like those of a frugivore – designed to pick and peel. Most of the animals that we are conditioned to eat, we would not even be able to run down, let alone kill with our bare hands. We have primarily flat molars, not designed to rip, but for mashing and grinding. Our jaws move from side to side, not like a carnivore`s only vertical movement. Our convoluted colons are quite different in design from the smooth colons of carnivorous animals. We are, like other primates, designed to eat fruits that will digest very easily and that do not need to be held in a long digestive track for optimal absorption.

In simplicity, when we eat the electrical charged, hig water perfect to digest food, that fruits are, the body does what it is designed to do; heal.

Hilde Aceasta este o intrebare care merita un capitol intreg. Am scris pe acest subiect in cartea mea, “Know the Truth and Get Healthy”, dar pe scurt, acesta ar fi raspunsul: suntem construiti pentru a consuma fructe. Suntem frugivori. Frugivorele consuma, ca baza a hranei, fructe, fructe de padure si cateva verdeturi; pot cu usurinta culege din copaci fructe coapte si isi pot folosi dintii pentru a desface un fruct copt; lungimea intestinelor si pH-ul acid al stomacului arata, inca o data, ca frugivorele sunt facute sa consume fructe, asemenea cimpanzeilor si altor primate.

Daca studiem un pic organismul uman, recunoastem imediat dovada ca suntem o specie frugivora. Nu e nevoie de nimic altceva, decat de bun simt, de logica, ca sa intelegem asta. Am avea mari dificultati, daca ar trebui sa sfasiem piele si carne, pentru a ne hrani. Unghiile noastre nu sunt gheare, mainile noastre sunt ca ale altor specii frugivore: gandite pentru a culege si indeparta coaja fructelor. Daca ar trebui sa ne procuram singuri hrana animala, cu care suntem conditionati sa ne hranim, am avea probleme nu doar sa o ucidem cu mainile goale, dar chiar sa si prindem un astfel de animal. Molarii omului sunt plati, nu ascutiti, ca pentru a sfasia, ci pentru a macina si a strivi. Falca noastra se misca dintr-o parte in alta, ci nu vertical, ca in cazul carnivorelor. Colonul nostru intortocheat este diferit de al animalelor ce consuma carne. Ca si alte primate, omul este construit sa consume fructe, care se digera foarte repede, nefiind nevoie sa stagneze mult in tractul digestiv, pentru o absorbtie optima.

La modul simplu, cand mancam alimente incarcate electric, bogate in apa si usor digerabile, cum sunt fructele, corpul face ceea ce este construit sa faca: se vindeca.

Liorisme: There are some (and not only a few) saying that fructose is a problem, that may even lead to cancer. How do you comment that?

Liorisme: Sunt unii (si nu putini) care spun ca fructoza este o problema, ca poate cauza inclusiv cancer. Cum comentezi acest lucru?

HildeEvery cell needs sugar to live. We are dependent on sugars. Natural sugars can never be a problem, it is vital.

HildeFiecare celula are nevoie de zahar ca sa traiaca. Zaharurile naturale nu pot fi niciodata o problema. Ele sunt vitale.

Liorisme: In what way that what we choose to eat influences the lymph?

Liorisme: In ce mod ceea ce alegem sa mancam are influenta asupra limfei?

HildeWhen we choose to eat food that impairs the organism, our glands and organs, we are on the acidic side of chemistry, we are hurting our eliminative organs. Our kidneys are supposed to filter out lymphatic waste. When they cannot, the lymph system (our sewage system) backs up, and it becomes stagnant.

HildeCand mancam alimente care ne incarca organismul, glandele si organele, noi trecem de partea acida a chimiei si punem presiune pe organele de eliminare. Rinichii nostri ar trebui sa filtreze deseurile limfatice. Cand nu mai pot face acest lucru, sistemul limfatic („sistemul de canalizare intern”), se revarsa si devine stagnant.

Liorisme: How physical activity influences the lymphatic system?

Liorisme: In ce mod activitatea fizica influenteaza sistemul limfatic?

Hilde: We need to physically move our body for the lymphatic system to move. It can be done by deep breahting, rebounding, walking, yoga etc. This must not be confused with moving the lymph as a part of kidney filtration. In fact, too much movement without kidneys that are filtering will simply circulate the acids and create symptoms.

Hilde: E nevoie sa ne miscam, pentru a misca limfa. Limfa se misca si atunci cand respiram profund, cand ne plimbam, cand facem exercitii de intindere a muschilor sau yoga si alte activitati fizice. Acest lucru nu trebuie insa confundat cu miscarea limfei, ca parte a functiei de filtrare a rinichilor. De fapt, prea multa miscare, fara ca rinichii sa poata filtra corespunzator deseurile, va duce doar la o circulare a acizilor si la producerea de simptome.

Liorisme: If the lymphatic sytem has such a tremendous impact on our health, howcome today medicine seems not to pay attension to this aspect AT ALL?

Liorisme: Avand in vedere importanta sistemului limfatic in pastrarea sanatatii, cum se face ca medicina de astazi pare sa nu acorde deloc atentie acestui aspect?

Hilde: I cannot answer for them. I am about health, others about medicine and drugs.

Hilde: Nu pot raspunde pentru medici. Eu ma ocup de sanatate, altii se ocupa de medicina si de medicamente.


Liorisme: Adrenal fatigue and kidney problem is something that almost all modern people suffers from, even kids. Why is that? How a fruit based diet can help in such cases?

Liorisme: Suprarenale care functioneaza deficitar si probleme legate de rinichi sunt chestiuni cu care aproape orice om modern se confrunta, chiar si copiii. De ce e asa si cum poate o dieta bazata pe fructe sa ajute in asemenea caz?

Hilde: We are back to the kidney filtration again. What seems to hurt the kidneys the most is protein. Even plant protein, but absolutely mostly animal protein. Breaking it down, in search for the amino acids, is a huge strain on the kidneys. The adrenals sit on top of  the kidneys and are controlling them. When they are slammed, down, tired from being stressed out for too long, the kidneys are hurting.

Hilde: Ne intoarcem la functia de filtrare a rinichilor. Se pare ca rinichii sunt cel mai puternic afectati de consumul de proteina. Chiar si proteina vegetala afecteaza rinichii, dar mai ales, cea de origine animala. Descompunerea proteinei de catre organism, in cautarea aminoacizilor, pune pe rinichi o mare presiune. Suprarenalele sunt localizate deasupra rinichilor, pe care ii controleaza. Cand sunt suprasolicitati si obositi de la stres prelungit, rinichii sufera.
